Machinery SEO

Transworld Engineering are a group of passionate people - whether it's heavy spring manufacturing machinery or the software that runs it, they know how to make it sing. I've known the client for over 10 years and they have a very similar approach to my own and a great work ethic.

The Issue:

Their old website was not performing well in SEO and I was initially brought in to fix some Technical SEO issues. The site was low down on search results and they wanted to be at the top.

I fixed the technical issues relatively quickly;

  • Site speed issues
  • Well formed code issues (headings / html errors)
  • Image attributes
  • Broken links / GSC
  • Template issues

Content Issues

With a much better overall site health - I could then start to understand the landscape, competitors and positioning for the main keyword targets.

One of the main issues with the site was a low text score on the chosen keywords - although the site was very technical, there were less general or overarching texts to cover the groupings of product type.

Working with the business closely, I set out the requirements for content and gave examples of existing content.

The Solution

Armed with new knowledge and better understanding of the product groups and specifics, I could start to fine tune the targeting approach. With new text, images, technical and more general content, the site was seeing great improvements within a couple of weeks.

Recommendations

The original website was poorly built and very difficult to update from a user perspective. Although It was performing much better based on the work I had completed, a major overhaul was required.

There was also so much that could be done to improve the products, even as large and difficult to price as this spring machines were, I had already got so many ideas!

Who knows - I may even get the work 😀
